DCJ Treats Zambian Judiciary Officials to Dinner

The Deputy Chief Justice, Hon. Justice Richard Buteera on the evening of Thursday June 1, 2023 treated the Zambian Judiciary high level delegation to dinner at the Lawns Restaurant in Kololo.
Hon. Justice Richard Buteera said it was a joy "to see a sister country visit, benchmark and share knowledge." He said, "let's keep the relationship and continue working together."
Notably present was the Principal Judge, Hon. Justice Dr Flavian Zeija, Court of Appeal's Justice Judge of the Constitutional Court Hon. Justice Geofrey Kiryabwire, the Executive Director JTI, Hon. Lady Justice Damalie N Lwanga, Hon. Justice John Eudes Keitirima, Hon. Lady Justice Olive Kazaarwe Mukwaya, and Hon. Lady Justice Elizabeth Jane Alividza.
The Permanent Secretary/Secretary to the Judiciary, Dr Pius Bigirimana, and cross-section of Judicial Officers took part in the dinner.
Hon. Lady Justice Anessie Banda Bobo, Justice of the Court of Appeal of Zambia who gave a vote of thanks on behalf of the visiting team appreciated the Deputy Chief Justice for the dinner. She also applauded the JTI team for the warm welcome and hospitality. Adding that the study was worth it.
"Our mission was accomplished and we hope that we will do a good job on developing our own bench book," she said.
She also thanked UNDP for funding their visit to Uganda.
The Zambian team extended a token of appreciation to the Chief Justice in appreciation of the hospitality accorded to them.
On behalf of the Chief Justice, the Deputy Chief Justice passed on to the Zambian team souvenirs.
The dinner was moderated by the Judiciary’s Public Relations Officer, HW Jamson Karemani.
